Hello Reader,
Cooking with a caring community is the best way to keep you motivated, inspired, encouraged and give you new ideas.
Do you agree??
Some of you have been given a tough job. You are cooking for a variety of food allergies, sensitivities or changes for other health reasons.
You cook every day because eating out is too unsafe or complicated.
You modify recipes but they do not taste like they used to. Some of them taste bad. There are a few winners.
Part of the reason cooking is hard is that it is never ending. We need to eat several times a day. And when food has the potential to make you sick, or not have energy, it adds another layer of complication.
People who have not walked in your shoes really do not understand.
And that's where a cooking community comes in. We will not all be avoiding all the same foods. We will have some different questions about recipe modification. But you will find people who understand, who can encourage you and inspire you and commiserate about the price of specialty groceries and the endless mound of dishes.
There are running clubs and board game clubs. We pay money for fitness coaches and piano lessons. But what about a community of people who could encourage us on a never ending but important job - cooking?
If you are dealing with allergies, it could be a matter of life and death.
If you have sensitivities or intolerances, it could be the difference between someone having energy to do daily tasks or lying on the couch with brain fog or abdominal symptoms.
And whether you like to cook or not, often cooking is the only option for those who want to be safe or feel good.
Life is not fair. But this is the hand you have been dealt. So come and journey with me. Come cook with us.
The Kitchen Table membership will begin in March. But I realize that many of you have not had the chance to take a cooking or nutrition class with me.
So this month I am giving you a taste of what it will be like inside The Kitchen Table Membership. Come join Cooking Together: Soup.
We will begin with a one hour live workshop on cooking soup, Saturday, February 12. Then for nine days we will cook soup together! While we watch the Winter Olympic bobsledders, skiers and skaters, our families or friends can warm up with the soups we are cooking.
Throughout the week we will have three live Q & A sessions and we may even cook a soup together!! Plus a private FaceBook group will be available for you to post your success pictures as well as your questions.
Join me today! Today is the first day the FaceBook group opens, so you can come and start gathering your soup recipes!!

The podcast last week was a dairy free potato soup. Although the recipe calls for a smooth soup, this Saturday I am adding more broth and chunks of potatoes for my friends who like it chunky!!
This soup is really a blank canvas - you can add so many flavor combinations as well as garnishes.
So for those of you who are getting snow the next few days (we are hoping to get all of our 12 inches!!) get ready by making a simple soup - only 5 ingredients.
Plus you have a choice. You can make it creamy by adding pureed white beans or cashew cream. As long as you use vegetable broth it is vegan!
Warm up with Dairy Free Potato Soup!!
And before I go - if you do not want to hear any more about The Kitchen Table membership or Cooking Together: Soup click here.
Keep Cooking to Enable Those You Love to Flourish!
Blessings and Joy,
Cindy
Hello Reader, Food prices have gone and are continuing to go up. And most of you already have higher grocery bills because you are purchasing more expensive products to avoid your allergens. Even if you are mostly cooking from scratch, alternative products are more expensive. I recently made a pizza crust that called for 6 different flour ingredients to try to take the place of flour in the recipe. So to help a little with your budget, in the next several weeks I will be sharing a few...
Hello Reader, If you are a fan of soft, very slightly sweet, melt in your mouth bread, look no further than Japanese Hokkaido or milk bread. Besides its fabulous taste and texture, the real bonus of this bread is that it stays fresh on your counter for FIVE days!! (well wrapped of course!) However the problem for many of you is that milk bread is not something you are able to make. It contains milk, eggs, butter, wheat and dry milk. And the milk most substituted for dairy milk is soy. Yikes!...
